Talking About Likes And Dislikes

To talk about hobbies, there are some phrases that will help you express things that you: like, love, hate or don’t like.

Para platicar sobre pasatiempos hay algunas frases que te ayudarán a expresar cosas que: te gustan, que amas, que odias ó que no te gustan.

Primero coloca la palabra I que significa Yo

Después uno de los verbos: like, love, hate, don´t like

Like:gustar

Love: encantar, amar

Hate: odiar

Don’t like

Ojo: al conjugarlo, quedaría así:

I like... me gusta

I don't like ... no me gusta

I hate... odio

I love... amo

Y por último una de las actividades del vocabulario.

For example: 

• I like playing baseball – Me gusta jugar baseball

• I love sleeping on my days off – Yo amo dormir en mis días libres

• I hate camping – Yo odio acampar

• I don’t like playing video games – No me gusta jugar juegos de video.

When you talk about your hobbies, you can use the below formula.

Para platicar acerca de tus pasatiempos, puedes usar la siguiente fórmula

* My favorite hobby is + activity + complement 

Mi pasatiempo favorito es….

• My favorite hobby is going to the gym –
•  Mi pasatiempo favorito es ir al gimnasio

• My favorites hobbies are playing the guitar and dancing – Mis pasatiempos favoritos son tocar la guitarra y bailar

• My favorite hobby is camping –
• Mi pasatiempo favorito es acampar

Otras frases serían…

What do you do in your spare time? – ¿Qué haces en tu tiempo libre?

In my spare time, I like… (En mi tiempo libre, me gusta…)

• What do you like to do on weekends? – ¿Qué te gusta hacer los fines de semana?

On weekends, I like… (Los fines de semana…)

To ask about your hobbies you can use these questions.

Para preguntar sobre tus pasatiempos, usa:

Do you like (activity)? ¿Te gusta (actividad)?

You can answer: Yes, I do or No, I don´t

Puedes responder con : Yes, I do (si) ó No, I don´t (no)

Do you like cycling? Yes, I do.

Do you like watching TV? Yes, I do.

Do you like playing video games? No, I don’t.
